Charlotte St Blues Club, London / Photo by M. BuchananWillis Wall Multimedia creates music and film. As a music major in college, I used to sit at a piano and laboriously write music by hand, never knowing exactly how it would sound until I copied the parts and put them in front of musicians. As a senior project, I spent months writing a comic opera in this fashion, spending an entire spring break copying the parts from the score working over 10 hours a day. The advent of computer input, editing, scoring, and orchestration has made life much easier. Although I may still noodle at the piano for ideas I can orchestrate on the go with the myriad excellent instrument libraries and virtual instruments now available. I also supplement with live instruments when needed (so far brush drums, flugelhorn, digeridoo, bass and guitar). I specialize in music for film, writing and editing both of these medium in concert. The selections below offer a sampling of video and music for various subjects. UFO was a finalist in the 2005 Banff Mountain Film Festival, and the 2006 Kendal MFF and Taos MFF. UFO won the Banff Audio Post Production Award, where I spent a week at Banff remixing the original music for surround sound at the Banff facilities. My Wonderland was a finalist at the 2009 Kendal MFF and features original music by myself and Seattle bassist Jon Hamar. Great Day For Climbing was a finalist at the 2007 Banff MFF and Kendal MFF and toured worldwide with the Banff roadshow.
