Trail Scat (a story of the mountains)

These images are frame grabs from 2011's short film, Trail Scat (a story of the mountains). You will probably notice the pole in the pix. Using a custom pole mounted Contour 1080P helmetcam and taking advantage of this camera's HD capabilities and ability to shoot at 60 frames per second, I was able to capture a unique and quite stable perspective while I was running Mt. Rainier's Wonderland Trail in the summer of 2010.

The Ups and Downs of Slammin' the Trail

frame grab from Slammin' the TrailLast minute editing of footage I took of 2009's 3-day Wonderland Trail hike. This was an experiment to see if I still had the "grit" to pull off a fast hike of this 93 mile trail when my fitness was lagging and my body was aging.

My Wonderland

My Wonderland is a film about my then 13-yearold daughter in her quest to hike Mt. Rainier's 93 mile wonderland trail in 5 days. Lugging a camera while accompanying her on over 140 miles of hiking in 2008, she maintained a remarkably upbeat attitude in spite of the difficulties of the trail.

Great Day For Climbing was my entry into the 2007 Banff Mountain Film Festival and the UK's Kendal Mountain Film Festival. Being selected as a finalist from the hundreds of entries to these two prestigious events was a huge honor.

UFO

UFO 2005 BMFF finalistUFO was my first foray into the mountain film festival genre, with an entry in the 2005 Banff Mountain Film Festival,  winning the Audio Post Production Award.
